A new article at CalMatters points out Calbright’s growth and recent success, noting that:
- Calbright now educates 2,300 Californians, up from about 1,000 a year ago
- Calbright’s enrollment continues to grow at about 8% a month
- Our persistence rates among adult students are significantly higher than other community colleges
“(W)hile the traditional college model would require students to drop out or take fewer classes — all at a financial cost — Calbright’s self-paced approach appeals to both students taking their time and others who want to speed through lessons.,” it said, also noting that Calbright is currently free to Californians.
