There's never been a better time to start a career in IT.

IT Workers – In Demand and Feeling Recession Proof

According to a new survey, the only reason companies aren’t hiring more IT professionals is that they can’t find more qualified candidates to hire.

“(I)t is clear we are in a no-growth environment due to the lack of available talent,” said Mark Roberts, CEO of the IT trade association TechServe Alliance. According to data from the Alliance, even if the economy goes into a recession, “demand for tech talent will continue to outstrip supply for the foreseeable future.”

That’s also the feeling of IT workers themselves, based on a different survey put together by IT management company SolarWinds. According to the IT professionals they interviewed, more than two thirds say they are confident about their career choice, even in the face of a potential economic downturn.

If anything, about half say their companies are understaffed.

That makes it a great time to be a qualified IT professional, which is why Calbright offers Californians the opportunity to earn a valuable IT certificate online, for free. Our courses in Information Technology Support and Cybersecurity are designed for adult students who already have jobs, families, and responsibilities. They can be earned in under a year and students learn at their own pace, on their own time, wherever and whenever is convenient.  We’re reimagining college to make it fit within the lives of Californians.

There has never been a better time to transition to a career in technology. Calbright is here to help.
